North Ilinizas Climbing Tour

Day 1. We start our North Ilinizas Climbing Tour leaving from Quito at 11:00am. Our Private Transportation and the Mountain Guide ASEGUIM will pick you up from your location but previously we take a double check of your mountain gear and proper clothes.  A drive to Machachi Cowboy town to take our lunch right there.  In fact, we will drive for 30 minutes more to the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve main entrance where our guide will register our North Ilinizas Climbing Tour. In addition, we continue our drive to the parking área La Vigen at 3950m (12959ft) for one hour more. Finally, we will hike for two hours with our equipment to Nuevos Horizontes refuge at 4700m. / 15419.95 ft. like our first acclimatization. Our guide will explain us some safety recommendations and ropes introduction. Dinner time, and wait for our North Ilinizas Climbing Tour.

Day 2. We will start our North Ilinizas Climbing Tour at 3:00am. It will take us around 3 – 4 hours to reach the Summit of Iliniza Norte, but it will depend on our physical conditions. A great time to take great pictures, enjoy the mountain. The descent to the refuge, will take us 1.30 hours. A delicious breakfast in the hut and Then an extra hike downhill to the parking lot La Virgen and go back to Quito around at 13:00 p.m. End of our North Ilinizas Climbing Tour

• Difficulty Level: Advanced beginner.  A very good acclimatization and Basic crevasse rescue and rock climbing  knowledge.
